Too bad it's going downhill. Stay elsewhere. I've stayed here 5 or so times over the past 10 years, and it's going downhill. The rooms are dated and less clean each time I stay, including a dingy bathtub, worn furniture, and that ring of dust around the edge of the room that always evades the reach of the vacuum. The fridge made weird humming/vibrating noises in the middle of the night, the elevator smelled like a damp closet, the hairdryer wouldn't stay in it's holder on the wall, etc. The service is also subpar. Both the hand soap and body wash bottles in our room were virtually empty when we checked in our room. The free coffee in the lobby ran empty every morning during our 4-day stay. Other guest seeking morning coffee directed me to the bar at the restaurant in the lobby for coffee, some 20 feet away from the lobby coffee station. The first morning this happened, the attendant at the bar tried to send me back to the empty coffee station but she eventually gave in and filled the paper cup with coffee. The experience was filled with attitude like I had horribly inconvenienced her. The second morning this happened she didn't resist, but I still got the attitude. I also got a strong look of annoyance from the front desk person when I asked for a few towels and pillows, offering to come back to the desk anytime that night when they might be ready to grab. A few employees there were friendly with a hello or smile, but most seemed uninterested in the guest experience. From my experience, this is likely a top-down management issue. Parking there is very hit or miss. Like many guests, we stayed at the hotel because it's connected to the ball field, and it's pretty cool to look out the window at the field. The hotel is also downtown and close to SNHU arena. Parking at the hotel is not regulated, so on nights with games or events at the arena, parking will quickly fill up with both guests of the hotel and people who just want a convenient place to park. This happened one night of our stay and we had to park on the driveway entrance. Not a big deal. When passing by the front desk walking into the hotel from our car, I made small talk with the attendant about "how the hotel must be at capacity tonight" and she proudly replied that they were indeed at capacity, and that people attending a concert at the arena were also parking in their lot, but not to worry because their policy is to not tow cars from the driveway. This was a welcome reassurance but another telling sign of the guest experience at this hotel. Overall, there are worse hotels in Manchester, but be aware that this Hilton Garden Inn is a shell of its former self. For us, the cons now outweigh the pros.

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Manchester Downtown while attending Banana Ball at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium and overall had a very positive experience. We booked two rooms with two queen beds in each room for our family. Given that Banana Ball was in town and the event had been sold out for months, room rates were understandably higher than normal, but I still felt the pricing was reasonable considering the location and convenience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. One of our rooms had a broken toilet upon check-in. I called the front desk and they promptly sent someone up to make a repair. While the toilet wasn't quite back to 100% after the fix, it was functional for the remainder of our stay, and I appreciated how quickly the staff responded. One thing I especially appreciated was the hotel's willingness to accommodate our family's needs. The property does not offer connecting rooms, but I called ahead and requested rooms next to each other. The staff made sure that happened, which made traveling with five children much easier. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, professional, and helpful, and the property itself was clean and well-kept. We also tried the breakfast buffet the next morning. It was not included with the room rate, but I found it reasonably priced and the quality was good for what was offered. It was a convenient way to start the day before heading home. The biggest advantage of this hotel is obviously its location overlooking Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. For anyone attending a game or special event, the convenience is hard to beat. Overall, despite the minor maintenance issue with the toilet, we had a very good stay and would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is a great spot to be close to all that Manchester has to offer. In particular we loved what it has to offer for Fisher Cat games. You can get a great view from the right room, from the hotel restaurant, or stay at the hotel and walk to the game. The hotel itself is typical/good for what I come to expect from the Hilton brand.
