Our reservation was for updated Ballys Tower, but when we and several other guests arrived a few hours after check in time the front desk claimed the Tower was sold out. They and other comps could only stay in the Dennis Tower, which I know has not been updated in decades. We flat out refused and canceled our reservation and went to the Borgata instead. Even for a free room, we have our standards and the Dennis Tower is worse, in my opinion, then a Super 8 motel. Once back home, we canceled all four of our future reservations at Ballys, which we just tried only the first time on a weekend. Back to Harrahs, Borgata and Hard Rock for us after this experience. They never bait-and-switch and ALL their rooms are updated.

I checked into the Bally's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City on August 6, 2026. THE GOOD: I paid $10 to check in early (around 2 pm), which I thought was a very reasonable rate. They quickly moved us from a smoky smelling non-smoking room to less smoky smelling non-smoking room. THE BAD: The linen and bedding in the second room was filthy, it took them hours to send replacement linen and bedding and we had to remove the dirty sheets and remake the bed ourselves. THE UGLY: The Eric, Bally's Hotel Operations Supervisor, displayed extremely poor customer service and communication skills, as did a few of the front desk clerks. The place is a poorly run dump site that everyone should avoid.

We stayed at Bally’s Atlantic City hotel and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Front desk employees were beyond rude. And if you tried calling front desk the call never got answered. Swimming pool was ice cold and the hot tubs were closed the whole time we were there. The room wasn’t that clean. Homeless ppl were inside the gambling area blending in best they could, but were begging ppl for money and cigs. Our floor was nonsmoking but all you could smell was marijuana which makes me very sick. Won’t ever go back to this hotel!!!!!
