Dirty, smelled of mildew. Terribly maintained and zero attention to detail. Ceiling above the shower had a large, moldy hole from an old water leak. Room was dusty, trash under the bed. Dirty, scuffed lampshades. Bathroom door was scuffed up badly. Do not stay here… plenty of other options nearby

Property exemplifies what customer service is about. Every employee was friendly and inviting. The staff works hard here and were very attentive. I wish I got the breakfast attendant’s name. Adam was great and helped me after a long drive. Rooms were clean and large. Excellent stay.

Notes regarding stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Branchburg/Bridgewater/Somerville New Jersey Booked through booking.com. Check in Thursday July 9, 2026, tried to check out Monday July 13, 2026 (see note below) Room was freezing, could not adjust on unit. Had to unplug and then later plug back in. Later discovered thermostat on wall. It had been set to 66. It worked with thermostat, but each time it kicked in, the sound was loud and annoying. Room reasonably clean, could have done a little better in bathroom. Only two washcloths, two hand towels and two bath towels. Asked housekeeping for one more washcloth and hand towel. She was polite and accommodating. Hallways warm and not very clean. Lobby stifling hot and remained that way through entire stay. Was told air conditioning was not working. They opened doors to get air circulating. UNACCEPTABLE. Elevator and lobby restrooms were dirty and remained so entire stay. UNACCEPTABLE Icemakers not working—have been waiting for a part for three months. UNACCEPTABLE The icemaker station was dirty and in disrepair. Should have been cleaned at least. Breakfast was adequate, but when they ran out of something at 7:30 am, they did not replace. Only had yogurt two mornings. Staff person friendly but not particularly helpful. Front desk staff again friendly but not particularly helpful. The really frustrating part came when we tried to check out (a day early due to a situation at home). Front desk person took our room keys and then said, “you are all set.” When asked for a receipt, he responded that the computers were down and there was nothing he could do. We then asked for him to write on a piece of paper: his name, our room number and check out time, date and the email address for the general manager. We read it back to him. Imagine our frustration when we tried to send an email and he had given us an incomplete/incorrect email address. UNACCEPTABLE. When it kept bouncing back to us, we called. The night desk clerk gave us the correct email address. He then went on to explain that we were still registered as guests even though we were calling from Ohio. He also told us that he could not check us out and/or give us credit for the unused day because we had booked through a third-party agency. We sent an email to the manager with our concerns, he said he was home for the night and asked for our phone number. He called the next day, basically said the same thing about check out. We have NEVER stayed at a motel where we couldn’t get a printed receipt and an email. He offered a comp day for our next visit. Nice gesture, but we will not be staying there again. The pending charge is $100 higher than the reservation/booking confirmation. We understand that the Fairfield was remodeled due to a flood two years ago. That is plenty enough time to get the kinks worked out, the air conditioning fixed, the ice-makers working, and staff doing their job as it relates to cleanliness. We will not recommend it to friends and family. It is not worthy of the Marriott name.
