Marriott Newark Liberty Intl. Airport

This was an absolute joke of an airport hotel and Marriott. To begin, is not a train direct from the terminal, it is a standard shuttle bus. The room had clearly not been brought up to standard in a while and had an odor which was unpleasant. Paying almost $400 for one night with no pool or actual amenities was a bit of robbery for this atmosphere and level of cleanliness. As I write this there is a cockroach crawling on the floor in the lobby! Additionally, the “breakfast included” rate was an absolute farce as when we went to have breakfast we were informed fairly rudely the total amount included was $44, not per person but per room! We had four people and a standard eggs/toast/meat breakfast was $24 per person! I will say this is a hard no.

The most overpriced hotel I have ever stayed at. €721.00 for one night for a very basic room with a bathroom that has a shower curtain - completely unacceptable. I had five pieces of luggage. No bellboy and staff watched me struggle on my own with five suitcases. €721.00 and no breakfast included. A tiny bottle of water in the room. No biscuits or confectionery in the room. I have stayed at the Burj al Arab (and many similar top hotels around the world) for less. Total rip off.

I’m back! At least once a year I’m happy to Park and Fly with this Marriott! I was greeted by the Dynamic Duo of Elizabeth and Tarian! They are so wonderful! It was as if I saw them yesterday! Tarian and Liz make every effort to treat me like I matter to Marriott! They are the BEST! After warm hugs and some lovely conversation Tarian made sure I checked into my favorite type of room with an airport view! In addition she got her colleague Lenny to help bring my heavy luggage upstairs! Thank you Lenny! Thank you so much Tarian and Liz too! Great to be back where I belong—-and my name is NOT Dolly!
