Renaissance Hotel Times Square

Our two-night stay at Renaissance New York Times Square Hotel was unforgettable. Waking up in the heart of Times Square and looking out at the iconic, larger-than-life digital billboards right outside our windows was an experience in itself, making us feel immersed in the city's nonstop energy from the moment we woke up. Watching the Broadway musical Chicago was a definite highlight, and simply spending hours wandering around Times Square, soaking in the dazzling lights, street performances, and vibrant atmosphere, made every moment memorable. A perfect location for anyone wanting to experience the very best of New York City.

Our visit to the Renaissance NY Times Square was nothing short of spectacular. Spending our trip with a home base in Times Square was a must as we had three shows already booked for our weekend getaway. Our visit started with a gracious and hospitable welcome from Tammy at the front desk, who immediately found us a gorgeous corner king on a high floor. She couldn’t have been more kind and also provided an extremely generous gift from the hotel in honor of my husband’s special birthday celebration. While we were getting settled upstairs, the housekeeping manager even stopped by to ensure that the room was prepared for our arrival. To say that all of this set the tone for our visit is an understatement! We encountered the housekeeping staff the next morning and they kept our room clean and comfortable each day of our trip. And the staff in the breakfast buffet were welcoming and a delight to talk to! Our only hesitation about booking here were the reviews we read cautioning us about elevator problems. We are thrilled to report that we NEVER had to wait for an elevator from street level or up to the rooms! The Renaissance became our NYC oasis in the sky and we won’t hesitate staying here again!

Renaissance is always in my top picks for New York accommodations when Broadway is on the menu, and that is due to the incredible, well kept property and the deeply professional staff that Marriott employs at this location. On this visit it was Gina and Brucha manning the front desk that made returning to the hotel after a long day feel like going home. Additionally, the renovations on the elevators at the time we visited were greatly minimized by the addition of an elevator attendant, tempering the small inconvenience of increased wait times with a warm and friendly face and the nostalgia of eras past. Remy, despite being young, was another perfect face of the Marriott organization. His easygoing manner and intelligence belied his age and made the whole experience feel classy and friendly in a way that Marriott hotels always pull off in a magical way that feels effortless. As much as I would like to explore other midtown hotel locations, it is these small perfections that make it hard to book anywhere else. Thank you, and I will see you again soon.
