The Strand Hotel

I had the opportunity to stay here multiple times in March while my 4 year old niece was undergoing surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering. I initially stayed for 5 nights, and then returned a few more times for shorter stays to support my sister while my niece recovered. The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and has beautiful views of the Empire State Building. There were also fun activities scheduled throughout the day, which added a really special touch. However, what truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. During an incredibly stressful and emotional time, they went above and beyond to make our family feel supported, cared for, and at home. Most importantly, they made my niece, who has been in and out of hospitals since her cancer diagnosis in October, feel so special. In the days leading up to her surgery, the staff showered her with kindness and love. They turned what could have been a very scary experience into something filled with warmth and even joy for her. Ryan, the manager, was incredibly accommodating and thoughtful throughout our stay. Sher made my niece feel like an absolute princess, Oscar took such great care of our family, and Bee went out of her way to surprise Lily with thoughtful gifts. Every interaction felt genuine and heartfelt. This hotel is filled with people who truly care. We are so grateful for the role they played during such a difficult time for our family, and we will never forget their kindness.

The location of the property is great. Macy's, times square all a short stroll away. Rooms are small and simply furnished but appear new and well maintained. Cleanliness is good. Gym in the basement is great. We'd choose this property again when visiting.

A resort on Manhattan. This Marriott Properties is designed as a resort Plenty going on. Many options for walking tours, wine tasting, food tasting, info about NYC. The front desk and hospitality team does a terrific job in engaging clients or leaving them to explore on their own. Lots of places to sit indoor and outside plus entertainment late after with wine and cheese each night. Very comfortable room that is large given it is located in Midtown Manhattan
