Dolphin Inn

I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at the Dolphin Inn was so APPALLING I feel obligated to WARN others. THIS PLACE IS A DISASTER from start to finish. We booked a room with a king-sized bed and kitchenette and paid accordingly. What we got instead was a different room— no kitchenette, and absolutely no explanation for THEIR mistake. When we tried to address the issue, the front desk staff (especially one woman in particular) was rude, and kept making jokes about just switching rooms with our other family members staying in a different room. I didn't find it funny; I found it very disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. To make matters worse, there was no hot water for two days, and the room itself was in terrible condition. Lights didn’t work, the fridge was broken, and the entire place felt run-down and neglected. It’s clear that maintenance is not a priority here. This hotel is not suitable for families....or frankly, for anyone who values basic comfort and respect. Save yourself the headache and book literally anywhere else.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL. The establishment fabricated violations to support the cancellation of the reservation to prevent a refund. When asked about the details of the violations, the front desk receptionist was rude and condescending. When asked to stop being unprofessional, she gave the phone to a gentleman who proceeded to lie and yell from the top of his lungs. I will be reporting this establishment to the BBB for unprofessionalism, poor customer service, and discrimination.

After searching reviews and availability, my son and I booked a room at the Dolphin Inn through Trip Advisor/Capital One for 3 nights. We were told check-in time was 3:00 PM but upon checking in we were advised check-in time was 3:00-6:00 PM - a loss of a half day at a costly rate. On check-in I was required to put my initials on a full page of "rules for me and explanations from them as to what would be the "rules" for our stay (unfortunately, I did not get a copy of that document). Then we found out there was no room service; we had to put our used towels on a chair outside the room to get clean ones. The bed linens would be changed on the third day (we left on the third day). I called before going to see what type of coffee pot was in the room and was told it was the usual drip type (it turned out to be a 2-cup pot with a cone type filter but we did not get filters from them for our use. There was plenty of soap and shampoo but no stopper in the bathroom sink, no carpet on the wood floors to keep you from slipping. The commode was very small and there were no safety features in the tub. There were unfinished parts in the room - in the corner in the bathroom, over the entrance door. The air conditioner was extremely noisy. There were no rules for the swimming pool and the children took over while their parents ignored their behavior. Parking was supposed to be for tenants only but if you went out and didn't return until later in the evening, finding a space was very difficult. The office was closed at night and even in the day time. When we checked out at 10:00 AM, it was closed but after calling the number someone came to the door (we left our key in the box outside but felt we should let them know we did so). My son and I will never return to the Dolphin Inn and will not recommend " to others!
