Fort Marcy Suites

To preface this review, this is the first and last time I will book a property on VRBO. Our condo was number 08 in complex. To say this place needs love and care is putting it mildly. We were greeted with an out of order sign on the laundry/dryer and it went down from there. The kitchen looked like it hadn't been updated from the 1970's. Only three burners worked on the ancient stove. Stove light did not work. Cupboards would not close. We ran the dishwasher twice and the pod door never opened. When you opened the dishwasher, the door would fall to the floor. Dents in the kitchen tile were plastered over badly. Main bathroom shower did not have enough room to turn around in and shower door would not close. Blinds in the main bedroom were missing cords and similar in other bedrooms. The two single bedroom had what I can only describe as a paper mattress cover or something that crinkled when you turned in the bed. Stairs are sketchy and the handrail was not secure. Hand soap was in a dirty not full bottle. Floor boards have never been cleaned or not cleaned well. Top stairs bathroom did not have slip risk pads and no bathroom fan. There were ants in the bedroom with the queen bed, and door would not close. The last night, I found blood on the bed covers which proved they were not cleaned properly. The balcony was rotting and chairs were falling apart. There might be other properties in this complex that are well maintained and Fort Marcy has beautiful views overlooking Santa Fe, with some updating this could be a nice place. Santa fe was booked for the folk art festival so nothing was available or we would have moved. Christina

We were in Unit 8. This unit is in dire need of updating and maintenance. It was clean and did provide a nice view. Our first night the cable box was not working so we had no TV. There is no streaming service available so you’re very limited on TV options. The washer and dryer were out of service and had signs on them that were noticeably old so that should be noted in the listing. Lightbulbs were out in multiple places. The cable box was replaced the next morning along with the lightbulbs… But those things should be checked before guests arrive. Furnishings are adequate, but beds are not very comfortable. We made it work for a two night stay but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer than that.

Fort Marcy suites in Santa Fe is the perfect spot we found out! Nestled in the hillside and across from a beautiful Park, we stayed in unit number 68. We walked in and immediately it felt cozy and comfortable. Decorated beautifully, the bed was so comfortable, he had everything you need in it.. Just perfect. Took a walk outside in the morning with a cup of coffee to watch the sunrise over the mountains. It's located so close to the plaza and any place you would want to go... But yet you feel like you are miles away because it's quiet and calm here. Very reasonably priced, which of course was important so we were pleasantly surprised at just how wonderful this place was! We will definitely stay there again.
