Extended Stay America Suites - Buffalo - Amherst

This is basically a scam run by Orbitz/VRBO; the company actually holding all the cards for the reservation is a UK company and they will charge you Euros, meaning you’ll pay foreign transaction fee as well as make it so the only way to cancel is to call their international number. Very deceptive practices. Also, they posted glowing reviews of this dump, when every other outlet has 1 or 2 star reviews highlighting how dirty the place is.

This is the best advice you will receive… Do not stay here!!! Filthy, disgusting hotel! They advertise a kitchenette but there are no dishes or silverware in the room. I found a plate of moldy food left in a filthy microwave when I arrived. There was a half a roll of toilet paper and the room had obviously not been cleaned in months. As far as safety, anybody can walk into the hotel as the card reader has been broken. The front desk and all hotel staff leaves at the end of the day so you are staying at a hotel totally alone with nobody to call if a problem arises. They do not answer the after hours phone Number provided. You and all guest are totally alone with anybody being able to walk into the hotel. The police and fire department were called last week due to a foul odor. They evacuated all guest for eight hours. From what I understand there was a meth lab in a couple of the rooms. They claimed that the hotel is non-smoking. When you walk up to the hotel there are thousands of cigarette butts everywhere. They do not clean them up and they do not provide cigarette dispensers. They choose to leave them covering the grounds. During the night you will hear loud bangs, slamming doors etc…which is very scary since there is no hotel personnel on the premises. Again, you are totally alone, in a hotel with no security measures. Anybody can walk in and basically have total access to the hotel. Roaches, bugs, spiders will be staying with you. Where are the building inspectors?

Grass overgrown, cigarettes butts and litter all over the place. Receive my room keys and when I went to my assigned room there was another guest in the room. My husband and I requested a refund and were reassured we would get one. Hotels.com agent tried to reach them for the refund and never got a call back. Had to travel 35 minutes away to find another hotel as it was move in day for college students. There property looks nothing like the pictures shown on the website.
