Hampton Inn Batavia

What a dump! There was rarely anyone at the front desk. When we first walked into the room it had a sticky, gooey spot on the rug. We were here 7 nights and the room was only cleaned twice. And one of the times they didn’t even empty the trash. One time I called to get it cleaned & they said yes and then never came. There was constantly water all over the elevator floor. And the last day they started construction on the rooms on both sides of us…leaving debris and metal pieces in front of our door.

Location and pleasant interactions with staff were the only positives about this hotel. First off, it is dirty and poorly updated. The carpet was stained and disgusting from the entrance through the hallways and in the room. It had been painted in places, but there were paint splatters on the bathroom floor and smeared across baseboards. There were rust spots on the tile under the vanity in the bathroom. One bed had a metal piece sticking out on one side that we had to push back into place and had a broken piece in the floor on the other side. The breakfast was terrible. Both the milk and yogurt were kept at room temperature. We ended up having to eat out each morning. The pool heater was also broken. The elevator was loud and rides very roughly. The hotel is so wet feeling all over. This was proven not only by the feel and smell in the room, but also by the dehumidifier and giant fan that were running in the lobby. We had to wash even unworn clothing because of the smell on them from the room. And to top it all off, at check in we visited the front desk and we switched the credit card we wanted used on the room. After checking out we were charged to the wrong card. We left in the early morning hours the day of check out and tried three times to check out in the app, but it did not go through. At 11:34 that day I checked to make sure I had automatically been checked out (as has always been the case at other properties) and had not. We have stayed at many Hilton properties over the past ten years and would NOT recommend this property.

Visited family this holiday season and stayed at this “cess pool”. Batavia was cold so my kids wanted to stay somewhere with a hot tub. Unfortunately, after a couple of evenings using the hot tub at this place, we flew back home to the west coast and both my kids ended up with a bad case of hot tub folliculitis. We called Hilton customer service to report and they did nothing because they said the manager told them the pool was closed during our visit. We called the hotel to confront what Hilton customer service said and asked to speak to the manager. We left our number with front desk, but the manager refused to call us back. I have pictures of my kids in the hot tub, and the outbreak of puss-filled rash all over their bodies along with doctor’s visit notes. I’ll refrain from posting the pictures for now to see if I will get a response.
