Motel 6 Binghamton, NY

Worst Hotel I have EVER stayed at in over 50 years. This is a disgustingly dirty hotel (blood all over the bathroom door). Their staff are rude and unaccommodating. I booked for two nights and they kicked me out after one day and said that I only booked for one (because their "records say so"). (I have the receipt that says two days). I had to leave the zoo that I paid admission for to dispute this and show him proof that I paid for two nights. He didn't seem bright enough to understand the email confirmation. The room smelled like a dead body had been removed right before I got there. I literally had to go buy Febreze to stay there for even a few hours. So, after I checked in, I went to dinner, then headed to Walmart to buy Febreze spray, a Febreze plug in, and two extra pillows (no extra linens or pillows are in the hotel room). I also felt very unsafe. There are parties going on towards the back of the hotel on the lawn. Every time I drove around the back there were three of four guys out in the back smoking and when I drive by they would stare and it smelled like skunk. I have been on the planet long enough to know what that means. Twice when driving by, there was a guy peeping in the back door window of the hotel. And another man kept walking back and forth between the hotel next door and this one. Looked like drug deals going on to me. I mentioned where I was staying at dinner to my waitress and she looked alarmed. She said yeah, that is NOT a "nice" hotel. So, it is known as the local drug motel. The pictures (of course) do not reflect this and their staff seems to care less about what is going on. I left furious, but found another charming and clean hotel 45 minutes closer to my concert destination (bethel woods). So I was better off for leaving this disgusting place.

Clean, Safe, Friendly and Great Value. A no frills hotel for a great price. The area is safe, plenty of parking. No more carpets, comfy bed, warm shower, TV and AC all I needed. The staff was very friendly and they had a 4pm day of arrival cancellation policy. Very helpful.

Best motel6 I've stayed at. Rooms were no frill, but very clean. Furniture/appliances were basic — bed, TV stand/shelves, table with 1 chair, nightstands, fridge, microwave. Everything worked and was perfectly in-line with what you'd expect at a 2 star hotel. Anyone complaining must have had a bad experience with other guests or has very unreasonable expectations. If you want 3 star hotel experience then pay for it. There were absolutely no bugs at this hotel which is not a given with 2 star hotels unfortunately. Suggested improvements: power strips on both sides of the bed, touch up paint. Up to 2 pets stay free which is what makes me loyal to motel6 when traveling with my dogs. It was a little noisey in the morning when people were leaving, but not sure what else they can do to fix that. They have to have hard floors due to pets for easy cleanup and the doors were pretty thick. I never heard a single dog bark even though there were many staying in the hotel. I drove 30 minutes out of my way traveling from Maine to Virginia and I have absolutely no regrets. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with pets.
