Holiday Inn Express LaGuardia

I booked this hotel in October 2022 to be close to the US Open Labor Day weekend 2023. I have now found out that the hotel is under renovation and will not be open. Worse, the hotel did not even have the courtesy to call and tell me. I found out by chance. This is a completely unprofessional way to run a business and extremely frustrating given the late notice so close to a major event. I’m not even inclined to stay here when it reopens because they obviously do not understand customer service.

Turned at this hotel, after a long trip from UK, on a long-standing booking via IHG site, only to be greeted by 3 men coming out of front door, telling me that the hotel was no longer in operation (despite all signs still being present). It transpires that it has been closed for months, despite still showing as active on IHG website.

Horrible. Initially changed room due to extreme train noise when I clearly mentioned that I was traveling for business purpose and had skype meetings to do. The new room was just like the previous room in terms of the noise level but this time the door of the room was not properly working, the shower was not working. Later, I was given the third room to use the shower and I haven't heard a single apology from the staff. The breakfast had no vegan dish at all. I was expecting at least to have one dish out of 30 dishes but big no. Overall, it was a horrible experience I had. I would definitely avoid this particular hotel. Would definitely not recommend to anyone especially if you are traveling for business purpose. Kishan
