Comfort Suites Newark

After 2 flight cancellations, we were so glad to get the last room at this space. While it did not appear to be in the best area, the room was very clean and the AC very cold - which are the most important things. The only recommendation I would make is to take out the carpet and just put hard flooring in the entire room, because the carpet was old and a bit sticky. The gentleman working the front desk told us we could stay late until a certain time, and the next morning we were told we needed to leave about 3 hours earlier. Upon discussion with staff and general manager, they did honor what the gentleman told us because it was his first day and he didn't know better. They do care about your experience. I didn't eat the breakfast, but I came through during business hours to pick up my DoorDash order. It looked like a basic breakfast spread that you would expect at this type of hotel.

We had to attend a weeding in NJ and I stayed at this location for 4 nights with wife and kids. Room was spacious and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was better that I see some other compatible hotels. We also visited Times Square area to see Holiday Lights and it was less than 30 mins away (without any traffic). Parking lot looked safe, there is $11 charge for parking per day.

Dirty sheets, dirty floor, dirty shower with dirt. The breakfast is absolutely horrendous and customer service is disrespectful. Oh and by the way I stayed there on thanksgiving day with my elderly parents and was charged $100 for “smoking”. I will never consider comfort suites as an option ever again. Be careful staying here they are scammers!!
