Be prepared for disruptions, poor service, and a mediocre experience. There's currently a labor dispute happening outside this hotel. Be prepared to be taunted and yelled at when coming and going from the property. Staff were inattentive and dismissive. Housekeeping either didn't visit promptly or when they did visit didn't leave basic things like shampoo and body wash. We had to call down multiple times to have amenities replenished. Breakfast room staff were pleasant and cheerful despite the absolutely mediocre offerings. I complained but management doesn't seem to really care about guest experiences. I would book next door at any of the other neighboring properties before booking here again.

Walking up to the hotel to see an inflatable rat and strikers was not the best experience. Guests have to enter through a makeshift side entrance and each time one enters an exits the hotel, the employees on strike jeer at you. This did not make for a pleasant experience. The staff at the front desk were hospitable as usual and the Titanium benefits were appreciated. The hotel allowed guests to cancel without a penalty; however, due to high hotel demand in NY that day, all other properties were prohibitively expensive, so I didn't have a choice. The room itself was a bit dated and I miss the slippers and robes that the property once used to provide. The bathroom amenities are minimal with no lotion, etc. I do hope that the hotel and the striking workers can come to an agreement as a guest should not expect this type of atmosphere when staying at a property.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at the Fairfield by Marriott Manhattan Times Square. The biggest issue was that there were union protesters outside the hotel every day from approximately 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. They were loud and, at times, approached guests entering and leaving the hotel in a way that made us feel uncomfortable. This ongoing disruption significantly affected our stay. What was most frustrating is that the hotel never disclosed this situation when I made my reservation. Had I known, I would have booked a different hotel. The hotel itself was also a major disappointment. The facilities felt run-down and poorly maintained, and the overall condition of the property was far below what I expect from a Marriott brand. The common areas looked worn, and the hotel gave the impression that it has not been properly cared for in quite some time. Between the daily protests, the lack of transparency, and the poor condition of the property, this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had. I chose this hotel because I expected the quality and standards typically associated with Marriott, but unfortunately, this property did not meet those expectations. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.
