Holiday Inn Midtown West 31st Street

Beautifully renovated hotel in the heart of Midtown. The hotel is close to Macy's, Penn Station, Empire State Building, a really great location. Hotel is really clean and the staff is very friendly. My "go-to" hotel in Manhattan

Other than Sochi & Eddy, the staff was terrible. I had to argue with one lady just to get my WOH Explorist complimentary water. It was as if it was coming out of her pocket and didn't want to give me any. Furthermore my room was in front of the elevators on the 1st floor of rooms. I'm an Explorist loyal member for the benefits. When I asked the lady who checked me in why I wasn't given a high floor, she said other people booked those. I explained to her its not like an Delta airline reservation, we don't get to go in there & book a certain seat (or room/floor in this case). She just kept repeating that those where booked by other. high levels rooms should be reserved for World of Hyatt members. I checked in early and even then every high floor room was already given to someone else with a higher level of membership? I don't buy it. EVERYONE ahead of me was an Explorist or Globalist??? I don't buy it.

We booked this hotel because our normal hotel was already booked. We were hesitant being we had never stayed here before. It exceeded our expectations. The customer service was excelled and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was just as good of a stay, if not more, than our normal hotel.
