This is the worst hotel I've stayed in. Incompetent staff, broken elevator, smell of vomit in stairs, green pool .. but nice exterior & good location

On the outside, the hotel is modern, and beautiful. This inside tells another story. While I understand this is a budget hotel, I was shocked to see the state and design of the rooms. The shower was not cleaned in quite some time. There was dust on the shelf’s, pink mold, and what appeared to be rust on the metal frame of the door, and the floor was very slick with what seemed like scum. The lights above the bed had a dead bulb, and the light in the bathroom flickered all night long, signaling that it soon will die. The bed is essentially on the floor, meaning it’s so low to the ground. One pillow case had a shoe print, like a maintenance worker or prior guest stepped on the pillow with their shoes on. The sheets were fitted, but did not fit the bed and constantly came off from just sitting on the bed. When I called the front desk and requested that the sheets be changed I was told that housekeeping would make the bed and empty the trash and that sheets were not changed daily. The windows had not been cleaned in some time, as each corner had a spiders web and the corners of the room a cob web. There was noticeable dust on the surfaces of the furniture as well. Now, I understand the hardship of finding talent in hospitality at this time, and I realize that Geneva is not exactly a major market, but if I was the manager I would have cleaned the room myself and never let anyone step into what we stepped into. We had to Instacart cleaning supplies to get it up to snuff. If operations continue in their current state, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. As a first time visitor to the area I assumed that Geneva would be the best place to stay to see wineries and the sites. What I quickly realized is that Watkins Glen was a more suitable town for our taste especially the hotel on the harbor. What I would recommend is retraining of the front desk, maintenance, and housekeeping staff. Furthermore, a reeducation or introduction of standards for all employees is greatly needed. Please read this as constructive criticism and not a bash. The hotel has great bones, but needs work, attention to detail, and passion to achieve a perfect score.

Check-in clerk was not welcoming. Clerk at check-out was pleasant and offered a receipt. King room, city view on 5th floor, was quiet and bed was fine. A cabinet had been altered and dried glue was all over the “shelf” which was the space where something had been pulled out. The photos show the “space age” furnishings. The fuzzy purple pillow was over the top weird.
