Hampton Inn Kingston, NY

I chose this hotel because it was on the shuttle route for a Festival I was attending. I was very pleased! The staff was friendly, the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was delicious! My room was spacious with a comfortable bed.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member I enjoy taking trips and staying at different properties throughout Hilton's portfolio. I decided to take Amtrak to Rhinecliff which is on the other side of the Hudson River, and then Uber to this hotel in Kingston. Before I left home, Google Gemini warned me that it is often hard to get an on-call rideshare car, because many drivers don't want to cross the bridge for fear they won't get another fare to return to Kingston. With that in mind, I pre-reserved my trips which ensured I would have a driver meet my train and another to take me back the next morning. As I usually do, I checked in and chose my room the day before arrival. While I already had a digital key, I stopped at the desk anyhow to obtain my complimentary water, and they were nice enough to make me a plastic key --- just in case. I found the room to be amply sized, plenty of room for toiletries. While I was on the rear side of the building and did hear a few train horns, it did not bother me since I travel myself by train all the time. Keep in mind this is a busy but freight-only line, no passenger trains. A noise machine and the HVAC really drowned out the sounds so it wasn't that bad. HVAC, WiFi, and TV worked fine. Bathroom had plenty of counter space for my toiletries, and I had no issues taking a shower with hot water. Breakfast at Hampton Inns can be hit or miss, depending on what hot foods they decide to put out. Hoping for scrambled eggs and sausage, the choices that morning were western omelet and bacon, so I just had a little oatmeal which was enough for a non-breakfast person. Overall, this property had friendly staff, what little interactions I had, and my room as certainly satisfactory for my stay. There are several chain restaurants within walking distance as well.

Nice hotel . Grandchildren enjoyed the pool and the breakfast . Staff was excellent . Absolutely no complaints here .
