The Georgian Lakeside Resort

This was the second year that we spent the last week of June, starting the 22nd, at the Georgian. There is only one word to describe our stay both years: “fantastic”. First of all, the staff, all the way from the front desk to housekeeping: friendly. pleasant, outgoing, helpful, interested, engaging, just a joy to interact with without exception. We had booked our room for four nights and decided we were enjoying ourselves so much we wanted to stay an additional night (more if time had allowed). The front desk staff worked tirelessly for at least a full 20 minutes juggling rooms around, playing what they called “reservation tetris” to accommodate us. They just as easily could have said it wasn’t possible. We found the food at the restaurant to be great and reasonably (for a vacation location) priced. This year they had hired a new chef and everything from breakfast through dinner was fantastic. The dining room has a beautiful view of the lake and the pool especially at breakfast. Our room by the lake was recently remodeled, spotlessly clean, bright and came with an apartment size (not under counter) fridge with freezer, a microwave and a coffee maker. Keep in mind this a resort that was probably built in the 1950’s and driving in off the street looks like a typical motel. Our first year we were a bit apprehensive driving in. But, the true beauty of the place is down past the restaurant building and down by the pool and on the waterfront. The owners have been pouring a ton of money into the place and it shows both in the buildings and the staffing. Very highly recommended. We will be back next year.

First off bathroom was immaculate. Excellent housekeeper. The remaining room was great. Only downside was the air conditioning unit in 308 kept banging all night. We were too tired to address at the time. Restaurant on site was great. Drink prices were expensive. I asked for black russian and they said it wasn't available. Literally it's Kahlua and vodka. You have a bar on water and can't make a simple cocktail for a trained bartender. We paid 269 for room.

Very disappointed. No place to eat dinner if it rains which it usually does every night because of mountain Dinner is served on outdoor patio or fire pits. If your in the middle of eating you are wet Housekeeping is terrible Over crowded pool area with many kids. Beach is the size of postage stamp and so full of toddlers and kids no room to swim. Cabana is huge in the water to rent. Taking up the small lake space This is a very casual place. No longer upscale.
