Hilton Garden Inn Nanuet

★☆☆☆☆ This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve ever had. I checked into a King Suite at approximately 6:00 PM and spent the next five hours dealing with issues that should have been addressed long before the room was rented to a guest. The room was visibly dirty throughout, including the bathroom, walls, handles, light switches, and other high-touch surfaces. There were stains, grime, and what appeared to be mold and mildew in multiple areas. The bathroom was particularly concerning. The tub was non-functional, had visible holes, and was missing fixtures. The condition of the room raised serious cleanliness and maintenance concerns. I reported the issues immediately and staff did come to clean the room. Unfortunately, the condition remained largely unchanged. I found myself requesting clean towels and linens, purchasing Lysol, and attempting to clean portions of the room myself just to feel comfortable enough to stay bc my son wanted to stay w baseball friends … What makes this even more frustrating is that I paid approximately $386 per night for a two-night stay after taxes and fees. For that price, guests should expect a clean, properly maintained room, not one that requires hours of cleaning upon arrival. This experience fell far below the standards I expect from a Hilton property. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the cleanliness and maintenance issues so future guests do not have a similar experience.

I was in town for a funeral and other family members reserved rooms here as well. Upon check-in I noticed the plastic covering the fireplace in lobby and the ceiling vents were missing, insulation hanging down. The floor of the elevator was littered with trash and I saw 2 employees use the guest elevators one pulling a rolling trash bin, the other pushing a mop and pail. The hallway on the third floor smelled of deodorant so strong I could taste it. The toilet in my room didn’t flush. A maintenance guy came up with a plunger and fixed the toilet but I germs had been splashed everywhere. I took my suitcase back to the front desk and asked for a clean room. The fifth floor was even worse. Stains on the headboard, stains on the bathroom door where liquid had splashed and dried. The sink and toilet seat were peeling. Tub and shower filthy. This building looked as though it were ready to be demolished. It was snowing the next morning and people that looked homeless were coming in for breakfast. A police officer stood in the lobby. I told the woman at the front desk that I won’t be finishing out my stay and would be contacting corporate for a refund. She said this happens all the time. All of us moved to the element hotel across the highway. It was wonderful and yes, Hilton sent me a check to reimburse me for that night.

Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Nice pool and hot tub. Plenty of quick eats in the area. Not sure who's bright idea it was to make it so the darkening curtains don't close though! We had to try and hang a blanket in the window because our view is a strip mall parking lot with a lot of lights on. The room stayed pretty bright all night. Pretty stupid design choice
