We received great help from the receptionist Mohammed during check-in. We were a bit early and he did his best to ensure we could already get into the room to put down our suitcases. Super nice, helpful, and polite. A great experience 👍🏻

On the 2nd day of our stay, the hotel management left us under the door, a card warning us that the smoke sensors detected smoke or know there what in our room, and applied a fine of U$500. We're not smokers, we never smoke. In a conversation with the manager's assistant, she apologized to us, but said that we could do nothing and instructed us to block our card. We argued that we didn't want to lock the card, only wanted it checked if there had been a mistake in typing the room number, we also invited someone from the hotel to go to the room to inspect our things or to show a material proof, which did not happen, that is, based on the sensor's reputation that, according to internet research, can easily be "provoked" by steam from the shower, aerosol, etc. In short, an unprecedented stress that "pulled the shine" of our trip. In the end we were proposed to reduce this fine by half, claiming that the establishment was "willed to act with goodwill"......and "help" to solve the problem. Problem by them invented....in my opinion, a dishonest practice and full of bad intentions, with the aim of "taking" money from tourists, usually foreigners, a cowardice

Great hotel, but an absolutely infuriating ending to an otherwise excellent stay. My husband was charged a $500 “smoking fee,” despite the fact that he has never smoked or vaped a day in his life. We are in the hotel business ourselves, so we certainly understand and respect non-smoking policies and legitimate damage fees. What we do not understand is charging a guest $500 for something they unequivocally did not do, and then offering essentially no assistance when the charge is disputed. When my husband spoke with the GM on duty, he was completely unhelpful and simply told him to “take it up with his credit card company.” That response was particularly disappointing. My husband had every intention of returning to this hotel—he genuinely enjoyed his stay, the property, and the location—but after this experience, he absolutely will not. What makes this even more concerning is that after reading other reviews, we discovered that other guests have reported similar smoking-fee disputes. That certainly raises questions about how these charges are being determined and handled. We are furious. A great stay was completely overshadowed at the final hour by a questionable $500 charge and extremely poor customer service when we tried to address it. Guests should be able to trust that substantial fees like this are supported by clear evidence, not simply charged and then left for the guest to fight through their credit card company.
