Hampton Inn Newburgh / West Point (Stewart Airport)

I will sleep in my car before I stay here again. I checked in and went to my room. Everything, from hallways to the rooms to the bathrooms is old and dated. The silver is flaking off the mirrors, the carpets are threadbare, there is nothing nice to say about the interior except the plaster walls which keep the rooms quiet. My first room (this should be a foreshadowing) the toilet did not work and the shower produced a weak stream. The toilet could not be fixed - I tried - so the second night I was moved to the next room. Here, the toilet worked, but the shower did not. So I tried to shower in the first room, and use the toilet and sleep in the second room. However, the shower quit as I was washing my hair. I had to shower at the home of the people I was visiting. The property seems to be housing illegal immigrants for the state (and a few drug addicts). I feel like the owners have given up and are happy to scam the state as an easy way to make money.

Although there was no hot water late at night, Bill at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and friendly. He really made a difference. Thumbs up to him! 👍

I had a single bed room and it was nice and comfortable and safe.
