A good place to stay makes you comfortable. A special place to stay heals your spirit, helps you breathe, and makes your burden lighter. Our two day stay at the Giacomo is the latter. Art surrounds you and lifts you up while the ample space makes you feel untethered. We stayed in room 408 for two days. We were greeted by Qiatina when we arrived and she got us informed and settled very quickly. Room 408 is spacious with four large shelf windows. There’s one king size bed supported by a sturdy frame. The cotton sheets and pillows are comfortable and clean as well as the bed. The blackout golden silk-like curtains and linen sheers are beautifully made and match the three compass floor lamps with linen-like full size shades. The five antique bronze medallion pins anchoring each curtain to the wall and the brass feet and two brass round shelves of the compass floor lamps are pleasant details. The zoffany navarre fleur-de-lys acanthus trellis flock wallpaper in brown and cream are nicely complemented by two abstract pictures of dynamic linear figures painted against earth tones. It is a well appointed room with refrigerator and keurig. I cannot forget to mention the full size pediment mirror in black outside the bathroom door. The bathroom is spacious and has a panoramic mirror flanked with bright lights. There’s plenty of storage under the sink and the towels are more than enough. The spacious shower has a glass partition and a timed heat lamp above the entrance. The rolling fabric curtains give privacy to the two sizable bathroom windows. To top it all, the hotel staff are amazing and make Giacomo Ascend hotel a true treasure.

My daughter and I visited Niagara Falls, NY July 19-24th. We stayed on the American side in The Giacomo, a boutique art deco hotel that is a designated historical buiding. The staff at the front desk, maids, bartender to breakfast staff were so friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our HUGE bathroom, comfortable beds and breakfast included. It is clean, a great value, and very well located to everything. There is also a 19th floor where you can have a perfect view of the fireworks at 10p. The hotel has no airport shuttle from BUF airport, but they referred us to Riding With Joe, an affordable private taxi 716-525-3662. Joe was really great assisting us on our vacation. We felt very "at home" at the Giacomo and would definitely stay at this hotel again if we make it back this way.

I grew up in the Falls and was familiar with the building when it held offices. That did not prepare me for how beautiful their restoration and furnishing was. The room we had was wonderful with a full desk and fridge, fireplace, large soft chair with ottoman and a full couch. A large bath with walk in shower with grip bars and fold down chair. On the 19th floor which did retire one set of steps was a 360 degree view of the Falls area and a great place to watch the fireworks and color lighting of the Falls. A bar lounge serves drinks and snacks. The hotel provides a full breakfast and secure parking. And I must say the staff are professional, knowledgeable and ready to help.
