This is in the Lake Champlain region of both the Adirondack Park/ mountains on the NY side of the lake and the Green Mountains of Vermont with Quebec Canada l8 miles to their border to the north. Lake Champlain region is historic for a number of reasons. Many of the naval battles during the Revolutionary War and war of 1812 were fought on this lake, the 11th largest lake in the US. 122 miles long and 15 miles wide at its widest point. It is magnificent , the views are like none other. Every outdoor activity you can think of , happens in this region. From Biking to camping to boating to skiing and hiking , great fishing… it’s a huge lake and the views vary greatly, each is unique. There are hotel options too many to count. Stowe on the Vermont side and Lake Placid on the NY side. Check out You Tube videos to get a better feel of this region. And Montreal is just 50 miles up the highway. Countless things to do and see for the entire family. Plattsburgh has a SUNY campus with 5000 students , the city is only 18000 ppl. Burlington is 80,000. There are two bridges and two ferry boats connecting the two states. The mountains are huge , 4000 to 5300 feet high. It’s rural all over. Farms, apple orchards, organic farms of all kinds. Dozens of ski areas. Two Winter Olympics were hosted by Lake Placid . The Adirondacks are the largest state park in the US at 6.6 million acres. To put that into perspective, you can fit Glacier National, Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon into this park. It’s massive. And beautiful. Well worth the trip and then some.

I brought in a group of 4 rooms for a total of 21 nights, the service to the rooms was inadequate and mostly lacking. The hotel staff were not friendly having no people skills. The hotel is old and very much In Need of major repairs, I have stayed here several times and it has never been this dingy and sad. Extremely disappointed, the only better side is the restaurant 99 next, staff there know how to treat people.

Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Internet was slow only complaint. Breakfast had a lot of choices including eggs, bacon, potatoes, oatmeal, fresh pancakes and more. Restaurant attached made it nice and convenient during bad weather.
