Union Gables Bed & Breakfast

After much research of the Saratoga Springs NY area, we decided to stay at UNION GABLES INN. We were not disappointed. The vintage mansion itself was positively lovely. The outside area is very welcoming and cozy. Whether you’re enjoying the beautiful gardens or basking in the sunshine while enjoying their sprawling front porch, this place was a 15 on a score of 1 to 10. Every detail inside the Inn looks like it was furnished with love & care. The room we stayed in was referred to as EDWARD. It was spacious and beautifully appointed with lovely linens and period art pieces. The fireplace although it was too warm to enjoy during our stay, was a nice touch. We did take the time to enjoy a delicious complementary breakfast every morning. It was made to order and served in a delightful dining area complete with floral arrangements, lace tablecloths and vintage artwork! It was a fabulous way to start your day! Last but not least I have to highlight the staff at Union Gables. We were met on arrival by JUSTIN who was both engaging and welcoming. He lives on the premises and availed himself to us when necessary! Chad made us breakfast most mornings and always made time to engage in conversation, which was a pleasant way to start our day. Especially when he sharing his knowledge of the area, including museums, shopping, etc! Last but not least, Sarah from housekeeping could not have been more pleasant, attentive or helpful. She kept our room immaculate the entire time we were there. Overall it was a fabulous vacation week. The location of UNION GABLES INN is walking distance to the Saratoga Race Track, blocks from museums, and minutes via car from shopping and lots of awesome restaurants. I highly recommend you check out this BED & BREAKFAST, you’ll not be disappointed.

We loved our recent stay at Union Gables Inn. As an avid history buff and fan of ornate architecture, this place was so intricate and - from the preserved paneling and antique woodwork to the gorgeous gardens (spotted some peppers and tomatoes!). We loved how this b&b was centrally located right in the most peaceful estate section of Saratoga, but with proximity to Broadway and all the cute restaurants and parks, perfect for exploring. We are NYC-based and are big walkers, so we averaged 15-22k steps daily strolling the neighborhoods and soaking in the scenery and Union Gables was the perfect home base for us. Speaking of proximity, we hope to return for another show at the incredible outdoor amphitheater SPAC (we were in town to see the amazing Gregory Alan Isakov & the location was super close to the venue). A 10-min. in and out from a venue and back is unheard of, so this was a huge upside of the location. The hosts at Union Gables were also awesome! Justin was so accomodating and welcomed us personally (thankfully with no formal check-in process) and Chad & Sarah were also lovely with just enough quirk to keep things interesting (we learned they also have a flat faced pup - three or four pugs more accurately - who were in their wedding as part of their special day lol). We loved the Cindy room, and having a little outdoor nook was such a game changer for us as big outdoors people. Our pup was treated so well at Union Gables, which was super important to us in the place we stay - and while he doesn’t eat people food, he was allowed a special bacon bfast treat Chad brought him each day. (We can break the rules on vacay now and then!) 🙂 What an eclectic crew, who clearly have a passion for what they do each day. Quite possibly the best b&b anywhere. New owner has made a fabulous place even better. Beautiful historic mansion...filled with period pieces... with an outstanding staff...kept spotlessly clean...in the best location. Great gourmet breakfast.
