We were only here for one night. This is one of Asheville's earliest luxury hotels. It's in an old department store building. The lobby is a bit drab, but that's the history. The location is excellent, right in the center of the downtown action, and within walking distance of most of the good downtown restaurants and stores. As one would expect, parts of the hotel show their age, but generally the hotel is in good shape. It's more of a boutique property (only one elevator), and there is no restaurant or bar. But the noted Early Girl Eatery breakfast place is just steps away, and there is an unaffiliated adjacent bar off the lobby. You can park in a public garage, but the valet service here is good and reasonably priced. The rooms here are huge, generally 400 to over 700 square feet. But they are priced lower than most other luxury Asheville hotels. Our Executive King room was just fine, but there were some issues. The TV remote did not work, and it took a while to get a good one. The tub in the large bathroom had a very high side---this could be an issue for older people. It can be difficult to locate programs on the TV. On a weekend night we could here the adjacent bar's band, but it stopped at around 11PM. None of these issues was major for us. Overall, a decent stay---just remember that this is not a full service hotel.

All rooms are very spacious and location is in the heart of downtown and walking distance to literally everything. Amazing staff as well

Wonderful hotel! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the retro vibe to the spa treatments. Highly recommend!
