Honey Hill Inn & Cabins at Engadine

Pros : Nice cabin and grounds. So much potential Cons: 1. it is a doggy cabin. If not into pets, the smell and hair very off putting. 2. Horrible road to the cabins. My Camry hit bottom several times. Loose gravel made it hard to get traction going up hill.Then I found a better way in. Why not give those directions? 3. Luxury towels & linens advertised. Provided Very thin and small towels. Obviously old. No bathmat. 4. Kitchen was not clean. Stove too greasy to want to toast bread. Sticky in the refrigerator. Kettle on stove was wretched. 5. Have to run AC on frigid to circulate the air to rid dog smell. Unplugged 5 deodorizers in this small cabin. Over powering purfume smell. Smell was in my suitcase & clothes when I got home. 6. A SPOTLIGHT shining in the bedroom window and curtain did not block the light. Why put a spotlight outside the bedroom window???

Upon arriving late in the evening, we encountered a spider inside a pillow case, ants in the kitchen.. but worse, upon my wife & daughter laying on the main bed, my wife was bitten by tiny critters on the bedsheets. We immediately contacted the property, but after close to an hour we were forced to find a new location at 11pm. Property management finally reached out to us the next morning and up to this post, I am currently fighting to get a refund on my 3-night reservation that was only utilized for just 1-hr.

Not good. Very impersonal. Codes to get in. No in person contact. Website says breakfast is from 8-10 . I get a text at 8:15 saying breakfast is at 9:30..That's BS. I have places to go and things to see. Not spending half my day waiting on breakfast . No freshly brewed coffee. We had to leave to go get breakfast and fresh coffee at a decent hour so we could be on the road by 9:45. Keurig's everywhere which fine for as a self serve option for various times. You are a bed and breakfast. Breakfast should start at 8 and there should freshly brewed coffee in the morning that are assessable to the guests. AND you communicate through text . Ok fine. But when we text back , no response. It's a 1 sided communication system . No phone # was provided so we could ask for toilet paper when we ran out. It was like a ghost town. It was weird. It's more like an Air B&B. The house itself is beautiful. Flowers are gorgeous.Property not very well maintained. Grass needed to be cut. Weeds out of control. Has the potential be something great. If you representing yourself to be a bed & breakfast, some changes need to be made to make it more warm and welcoming. Otherwise you need to advertise and promote yourself as an Air B&B so the message is crystal clear about what you are providing. I have been to a bed & breakfast, you did not meet the expectation. Not even close.
