Unexpected stay overnight in Charlotte. Clean hotel. No frills. Airport shuttle available. Thomas, a driver, has excellent attitude and makes the ride very enjoyable.

Thomas picked me up after a flight cancellation with the hotel shuttle. He was incredibly friendly and upbeat! A welcomed experience after the cancelled flight.

After reading a few reviews of motels in the same area, I decided to pay a bit more for City Express by Marriott Charlotte. After landing in the airport from a trip to see my folks, I went to pick up my car down the block from a mechanic where I had dropped it off. I stayed overnight as it was after hours and they offered a complimentary shuttle. The shuttle drivers were friendly and helpful, fast and courteous. Especially good was Manish working the front desk. I had an issue with my online reservation he helped me work out and it was only his second day. It was extremely busy and I watched as he got everyone taken care of like a short order cook. One person was very rude and loud and he handled it all very well. Room was very clean and everything was quiet. The continental breakfast was quite good compared to other places I've stayed. I used the exercise room and they had the same equipment I'm used to as from Planet Fitness. The car had a part delayed and I had to get a rental car and Michael the shuttle driver & front desk staff helped me find a car at a good price and zipped me back to the airport. Now I'm back home 80 miles west of the Charlotte airport relaxing. Glad something went right when the situation went catawumpus.
