Unfortunately, our experience at the front desk was extremely unpleasant and left us feeling very uncomfortable. The receptionist, Jalynn S., and the Assistant Manager, Terri W., were involved in a situation that we felt was disrespectful and, at times, discriminatory. We were even threatened with having security called and being removed from the hotel. It was a frightening and completely unnecessary situation, especially considering that we were never aggressive or disrespectful toward them. What made the situation even more difficult was that we explained that our daughter had just been discharged from the hospital after receiving chemotherapy, yet we still felt very little empathy or understanding from them. We also witnessed another guest receiving completely different and much more welcoming treatment. Later, we learned that another guest had experienced similar issues with the same employee. Because of what happened, I felt compelled to record part of the situation. We shared the videos with Mr. Hamid so that he could personally see what happened and form his own perspective of the situation, rather than having to rely solely on our version of events. I am sharing this review because I sincerely hope no other guest has to go through an experience like this. A hotel should be a place where guests feel welcomed, respected, and safe, regardless of who they are or where they come from. However, I want to sincerely recognize the General Manager, Mr. Hamid, because he made a significant difference in our experience. He took the time to personally listen to us, treated us with kindness and respect, and made us feel heard and comfortable. He also assured us that what happened would be taken seriously and would not happen again. To be completely honest, after what happened, we had decided that we would never return to this hotel. But the way Mr. Hamid handled our concerns changed our minds. His professionalism, empathy, and willingness to listen are exactly what we hope to experience when staying at a hotel. I truly hope management follows through with the necessary changes and provides additional customer-service training to the front-desk staff, especially to prevent other guests from having to experience what we did. Thank you, Mr. Hamid, for taking the time to listen to us and for giving us a reason to feel comfortable returning.

I rarely write a review but this stay left me feeling conflicted. First - the property is beautiful, the rooms are super spacious, and the design is nice. Not over the top but all needs are met - and a few wants! (TV in bathroom mirror, large desks, microwaves). Bed was ok - hotel bed. There was a dish still left in the refrigerator and my check in was delayed about 20 minutes. Still, I would stay again and that's coming from a genuine hotel snob. I like a beautiful, clean space in a great location to stay and the mall is literally around the corner. Now - a few concerns. One - why is the coffee maker IN THE BATHROOM. Between the toilet and the sink. Not a well thought out design, so don't do coffee in the room. Plenty downstairs. (This was a standard king room.) The remote for the bathroom mirror is in there - I used a Lysol wipe to ensure...well, you know. The other thing that really had me just slightly irked was customer service. Every person at the front desk seemed like they had just sucked on a lemon and couldn't be bothered to actually look you in the face and smile. They are very attentive to the rules - I got a call first thing that morning saying my card didn't work and my room would be canceled if I didn't provide another one. Not sure why that happened - I used another card on the same account and it was fine. I asked if they do anything special for a birthday- like a card in the room, etc. She gave a very perfunctory "no". It really felt like a superior air about the place - which guests are not allowed to take part in, lol. I guess it feels like this Hampton has all the rules enforced to the employees but forgot to tell them "be nice. Be welcoming." Ms. Diana in the kitchen area was sweet, though. Overall, lovely hotel, with a seemingly annoyed crew - except the gentleman that works there - man of color, wears glasses. He was by far the friendliest. Oh! I recommend getting a room center of hotel, facing the fountain. SUCH a pretty view!
