Residence Inn by Marriott Glen/Ballantyne

We had previously stayed at the Residence Inn several years ago and it is a great location, convenient to Stonecrest, south charlotte restaurants and shopping. You cannot say enough about the staff who are friendly, professional, take pride in work and helpful. However this hotel sorely needs a complete overhaul. The furniture in the lobby is filthy, rooms are dated with damaged furniture, shower curtain needed new sliders because they were damaged and the liner would not stay hooked……..The pool area is a total mess with an umbrella that has no canvas..just spokes, old chairs, instructions for a hot tub that has been filled with concrete….Marriott needs to focus on its properties maintaining high standards…we have two other trips planned to cometo Charlotte and changed our reservations after this stay!

Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel was kind of run down the chair and couch in our room was dirty and ripped My biggest issues were 1) they came at 830 pm to clean the room. My daughter was already sleeping. 2) below average breakfast buffet. Sausage was very greasy and eggs were watery. We only ate there one day. The lady working the breakfast was super nice. Excellent customer service skills Told front desk person about issue with housekeeping. She was very nice and understanding and said she would tell management.

Absolutely horrible experience. I ended up getting bed bugs, and they changed the type of a room that I had booked in advance!! My experience was so bad that I went to a whole different brand of hotel and would never go to this one again
