Chestnut Tree Inn

Recently stayed here with wife and 2 grandkids for the Cherokee PowWow. Check-In lobby is very nice, room was nicely decorated with comfortable beds. They advertised hot breakfast but were told that the restaurant had actually closed down. Instead you were offered a bag that included a bottle of water, blueberry muffin, peaches and a breakfast bar. Staff were all nice and polite but the landscaping around the building is in some serious need of work. Everything is overgrown and growing up the sides of the building. Grandkids did enjoy the pool though. Overall.....OK...but I would probably choose another place next time.

Front Desk was very nice. Hotel is 2-2.5 star. Bathroom curtain was filthy. Rug was dirty. The worst part was that my hotel room had stink bugs. After my husband killed a few, I called the front desk and was told that they are common to NC and similar to ladybugs; do not kill them. I live in NC and they are not in my house. So if you dont like bugs or traveling with children who might be afraid, be aware.. This may not be the place for you..

The hotel room was dirty and the bathroom filthy. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The sheets were either stained or not clean also. There were dead bugs on the windowsill in plain sight. This property is old and desperately needs updating but the lack of cleanliness was appalling.
