We decided to give this place a try as it was in out price range, on the beach, and not to far from the the local YMCA. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we weren't in the room much as we were in town for a swim meet at the local Y. Since we were there the weekend time changed we asked if we could have a late checkout and were told no problem. The breakfast was standard fair, basic, but my daughter loved the mini waffles the waffle maker could make. I don't think we actually got the room we had reserved on their website, as we were supposed to be in a large king suite with with a partition wall separating the bed from the sleep sofa, on the poolside. We were given a large king room with the sleep sofa in the same room, with a dune/partial ocean view in the tower. Honestly we were excited about this as it was a nice weekend so during the limited time we were in the room, we enjoyed sitting out on the balcony listening to the ocean as I don't think the room I originally booked had a balcony. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and perfect for a weekend stay! Since we come to OBX 2 or 3 times a year for swim meets, we do plan to stay here again!

I see I reviewed this place back in 2012 and most of my comments still apply. I feel the management has stepped up the maintenance a bit. Everything was very clean and we really enjoyed our second floor room (would prefer 3rd floor though to get direct water view). Still they don’t provide curtains so light comes between the slats of the shutters which is a little annoying and the windows don’t open so we can’t really hear the waves at night which would be nice. I think they got rid of the lounge chair rentals so bring your own or use the “take a chair” pile of discards they keep on the beach path. The beach is nice and wide and not as crowded as some areas. The breakfast was just okay. We tried it once then just drove to Arts Place which is our favorite restaurant in the area.

The value for the room my best friend and I stayed in was incredible, with a beautiful view of the dunes and the ocean. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, and room service was always on top of things! The bathroom was the cleanest I had ever received, the beds were very warm and comfortable, and overall, this was a great experience.
