Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

Very old and outdated. All doors were black and dirty. Cracks in the wall, carpet is gross, run down refrigerator, the grounds are ghetto and the room smelled. The initial price was $112 and afterwards came out to $192. For a 2 star hotel, this price is not worth it. The pictures are deceiving. This place is gross.

After a nightmare experience at another hotel, my husband and I found ourselves driving around Wilmington at 2:00 AM trying to find a place to stay. At that point, I didn’t even care about the price—I was ready to pay $200 a night if I had to. The problem? Everywhere along the Market Street strip was completely booked. Then we stumbled upon Rodeway Inn & Suites—and honestly, it felt like a blessing. We walked into the reception, exhausted and frustrated, and the lady at the front desk was incredibly kind. After hearing what we had just gone through, she said something that immediately stood out: “Would you like to see the rooms before you book?” That right there told me everything. A hotel that’s confident enough to let you see the room first? That’s a clean hotel. To our surprise, the rate was only $69 per night, and we immediately booked two nights. When we drove to our room, the first thing we noticed was how well-lit and clean the property was—no trash, no chaos, just a calm, maintained environment. Then we opened the room door… The room was extremely clean. It actually smelled clean (and after what we had just experienced, that meant everything). My husband and I looked at each other and said, “Okay… this will definitely do.” After a long 4-hour drive and everything we had just gone through, we finally felt at ease—and we knocked out immediately. This place didn’t just give us a room—it gave us peace of mind when we needed it most. What started as a stressful, disappointing night turned into a moment of relief—and honestly, it saved my birthday. Clean, safe, affordable, and genuinely kind service. Highly recommend. We will absolutely be back!!!!!!!!

Cheap & substandard. Room reeked of pot and management did not care. No lampshades on some of the lamps. Cheap scratchy sheets and no blanket on bed. Only 1 hand towel and wash cloth in room for 2 people,. They hit my cc for $100 as a no smoking deposit,,,.I don't smoke but someone smoked pot in the room! Will never go there again or ever recommend to anyone.
