HAMPTON INN WILMINGTON-MED PAR

The stay was just OK. We were visiting family and I picked the hotel for its location and because it was a Hilton brand. Unfortunately, also because of its location (close to the hospital) it was quite worn. The room overall had a shabby feel; beat up furniture, frayed bed spread, sort of sticky carpeted floor, an impression on the carpet where someone dropped a hot iron, peeling or missing caulk around the shower, etc. I suppose it was clean enough, but it just didn’t give the impression of clean. The breakfast the next morning was free, but again, just OK. You could find enough to satisfy your hunger but it had little appeal. The staff were friendly enough. Upon check in I was thanked for being a Hilton Honors member, but then had to remind that person that I typically receive a couple bottles of water, at the least, for being a member. I doubt that we’ll stay here again unless Hilton decides to do a complete refurb of the property.

Nice and quiet spot. Breakfast was great with premium bacon along with eggs, hash browns, cinnamon buns and fruit. That 24 hour coffee maker was da bomb! Using a touch screen it ground your coffee, brew your coffee and dispense said coffee. I loved it and the fitness center and the heated indoor pool. Great spot to chill if you have family at the Norvant Medical Center like I did and need a nice respite location.

Stayed here while visiting our son. Jen at the front desk was very pleasant, and more than helpful getting us the rooms we wanted on the top floor. RooThe eggsm was vey comfortable and clean---but with 1 glaring default. For a room with 2 double beds, which would ususally mean at least 2 guests, they have only a desk chair to sit in. the other guest has to prop themselves up in bed to read or watch TV. I don't believe I have ever stayed in another 2 bed guest room without anothet chair to sit in besides the desk chair. I think Hampton should at the vesy least have another small chair for 2 guests in these rooms. The breakfast was adequate. The bacon was just a few bits and pieces when we got there at 9 AM. The fried eggs were a little rubbery. Did have some fresh fruit and cereal, and you could make a waffle. No biscuits, and a limited number of sweet rolls. Again, adequate, but a little skimpy in my view. Ocerall, OK, but not a glowing endorsement for the stay in a competetive segment of the motel market. I've had better experiences at other hamptons I have stayed in elsewhere.
