Best Western Plus Ramkota

This hotel is trying rooms were clean but pool and rooms just need some updates. Staff was very friendly.

Bismarck Hotel was perfect, right in the heart of Bismarck North Dakota and close to great restaurants. and next to the Kirkwood Mall, the room was spotless, very comfortable, and the new owners and staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive. The amenities, including the pool with slide and kiddie pool for the little ones and a gym and they have shuttle service, too.I had a wonderful and excellent experience and recommend staying there for yourself or with family. Check in experience and customer service was okay. Our room, however, was not clean, dried food on the floor, dirty AC and windows, and the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped. There was only 3 bath towels in the bathroom and there were 6 of us (4 small children). I went to the front desk to ask for more towels and were told they didn’t have any. I was also surprised to find out we had to request housekeeping. Had I known that at checkin I would have had them stop simply for towels and garbage. I understand they are renovating, but there is no excuse for having a dirty room and not enough towels for a full house. The pool: very fun for the kids, but needs quite a bit of attention. Starting with cleaning. Things don’t need to be new for them to be clean. The pool area was also constantly out of towels, even when we were the only guests in there. I saw several, SEVERAL, children slip and fall, hitting their head on the tile floor, even when not running. There has to be a safer solution to the flooring that would improve the slipping, whether that be cleaning the floor, (preventing slimy pool water), or redoing the floor to a less slippery finish. Lastly, our keys were constantly failing (even when kept away from cellphones).
