Best Western Plus Ramkota Hotel

Check in experience and customer service was okay. Our room, however, was not clean, dried food on the floor, dirty AC and windows, and the floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped. There was only 3 bath towels in the bathroom and there were 6 of us (4 small children). I went to the front desk to ask for more towels and were told they didn’t have any. I was also surprised to find out we had to request housekeeping. Had I known that at checkin I would have had them stop simply for towels and garbage. I understand they are renovating, but there is no excuse for having a dirty room and not enough towels for a full house. The pool: very fun for the kids, but needs quite a bit of attention. Starting with cleaning. Things don’t need to be new for them to be clean. The pool area was also constantly out of towels, even when we were the only guests in there. I saw several, SEVERAL, children slip and fall, hitting their head on the tile floor, even when not running. There has to be a safer solution to the flooring that would improve the slipping, whether that be cleaning the floor, (preventing slimy pool water), or redoing the floor to a less slippery finish. Lastly, our keys were constantly failing (even when kept away from cellphones).

We stayed at the Bismark Hotel and Convention Center and it was BAD!! I travel a lot and this was BY FAR the WORST experience of my life. The first room we were put in had a broken lock and we have a 2 year old so that was not going to work. They moved us to another room and it was disgusting, there was poop all over the wall, the blindes were absolutely filthy, the bed hadn't been turned over as there was glitter all over it. The bathroom was dirty and not somewhere I wanted my kids bathing and the thermostat didn't work and it was HOT, all night long. To top it off, my son woke up in the middle of the night throwing up so my husband and I got up and took a walk out to the car to get something for his tummy. We were attacked by the lady at the front desk. As my husband walked out the front door to get stuff out of the car, the lady YELLED "where are you going" I responded with my son got sick and my husband is grabbing something out of the car for him (not that it was ANY of her business) she then asked "who are you? Are you staying here? What room are you in?" It's was 4am, we were in our pajamas WITH a hotel key. I told her who I was and she said she couldn't find us in the system. My husband came back in, pretty shocked at how I was being treated and explained again that we had a sick kid in OUR ROOM, who we were and she STILL was acting like we didn't belong there. She was BEYOND RUDE and even after figuring out that we did in fact belong. At that point we figured that this must happen a lot and no longer felt safe. Find another hotel, trust me.
