Holiday Inn Express Lawrenceburg

Motel badly needs renovating. Think I could see mold where wall met ceiling. Trim in bathroom was all chipped and looked rusty. Staff never maintained front desk and always had to be called for any service. Phone there kept ringing and ringing. Unfortunately few choices in the area, but would prefer to sleep in car.

The front desk guy was helpful but the place was just disgusting. We booked a king room and immediately saw black mold all along the ceiling. The entire lobby and hallway smelled like cigarettes. The room was dank and dated with weird spots on the walls and even on the bedding. We asked to change rooms and got another room without the black mold but smelled of mildew and cigarettes. We actually had to go to the nearest Kroger and get air freshener to try and mask the scent. That night when we went to shower, the water took forever to heat up and when it did it went straight to burning hot and it would not cool down. The shower curtains didn’t even fit the length of the shower so water got everywhere. Thankfully we were just passing through and didn’t need to stay long but it was actually so gross. One of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at probably in my entire life. Thank you for reading.

First room given was very dirty and bath room had not been cleaned from at least several visitors. Smelled bad also. Our room was switch and it was OK other than the shower tub was half full when we got it from someone not draining. I would not come back nor recommend this hotel. The breakfast was average which bumped the rating up to 2 stars.
