The Lodge at Sawmill Creek Resort

We booked this hotel based on the fact it is a Cedar Point property and is our first visit at any of their hotels. When we arrived back at the hotel after midnight, we turned on the air conditioner to cool off the room just a bit since the room was slightly humid. The a/c unit was vibrating loudly for about 30 minutes and we were unable to sleep. We tried to drown out the sound with the TV but the a/c was still louder. I called the front desk and reached Heather, the night auditor, at 1:12am. She stated that she cannot help me and I need to talk to someone else in the morning. She also mentioned she couldn’t move us to another room as she does not have that authority. As calmly as possible I stated that we needed it to be quiet to sleep and it was extremely loud as it continued vibrating. She said all of the rooms a/c’s do the same thing. She then said she had 6 people at her desk that needed to check in and she cannot help me and said I keep saying the same thing over and over. I stated that we spent over 200.00 for our room and we expect things to work. She again said she has people to help and then SHE HUNG UP ON ME!

We have stayed here several times and it has gone downhill tremendously! It was a poor experience for us, unfortunately. We were surprised to find there isn't a coffee maker in the room and no complimentary coffee in the lobby so you are forced to spend a ridiculous amount of money for coffee! Really?!?! I guess I should have researched that further but for the amount of money this room cost, I just assumed it was a perk. WRONG!!!! PS....Go to the Mcdonalds that is 1 minute to the left of the parking lot. The toilet paper is horrible! Sooo rough and thin. It seemed like we were in a low budget hotel. The logistics of the parking lot to your room is like a cross country competion! Hubby needed to use a cane and our room was ridiculously far from the parking lot. NOT handicapped friendly!!! The room cost us $309/night and the only view was a parking lot full of cars with tons of people walking by..... On the positive side, the bed and pillows were super comfy and even though the shower was older, water pressure was good. I am 72 years old female and I could barely squeeze the tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It appeared that families with small children enjoyed to pools, etc. We did not use the pool. I would advise that if you do not have high expectations, then you might be ok.

Our family recently stayed at Sawmill Creek Resort, and we had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you're planning a trip to Cedar Point. The hotel rooms could be a bit larger, but they comfortably accommodated our family and certainly didn't take away from our stay. What truly stood out was the staff. Every single interaction we had was welcoming and memorable. Carson at the pool bar was so kind and friendly, and the front desk team had us laughing. It's obvious the staff genuinely cares about making guests feel at home. Breakfast at The Harvest was absolutely delicious and the perfect way to start our mornings. I was excited to play the course, and it exceeded my expectations. The fairways and greens were in beautiful condition, and those par 3s definitely provided a challenge! I loved hearing the waves from Lake Erie while playing the back nine. A huge thank you to the staff in the pro shop for taking the time to give me a few helpful tips before my tee time. While I wish the golf carts had GPS, it honestly didn't affect my experience. What really impressed me was Mark, who went above and beyond after my round by cleaning my clubs, unloading my bag, and even driving me back to the resort. That level of service is hard to come by and truly deserves recognition. We also had dinner at Mulligan's Pub, where Payton provided impeccable service. Compliments to the chef as well for the wings and hot honey chicken sandwich were outstanding, and my family couldn't stop talking about the perch sandwich. Overall, Sawmill Creek delivered far more than just a place to stay. Between the outstanding hospitality, beautiful golf course, great food, and convenient location, it created a memorable family getaway.
