Plantation Inn Suites Jackson

Ok we stayed there in Oct 2019, while our house was closing and moving to the new one. At that time it was $300 a week. The staff were good people, the room was clean. The morning refreshments were lacking. So we purchased a $12 Coffee maker and some coffee items. Several fantastic places to eat within a very short walk. The China Buffet across the street next to Piggly Wiggly & Jimmy Steak House a short being the 2 Best. Huddle House and many others were good 2nd choices also. Yes, there are a number of Trains passing be location, and we were maybe 50 yds from the tracks. Didn't wake us any of the 14+ nights we stayed there. Good Cable TV, WiFi service, AC did the job, clean bed and bathroom. The only issues were the Friday-Saturday night hook-up types in the hallways and A Church holding Sunday morning services in the main area conference area. It could wake the death.☺

The only nice thing here was the gentleman who managed the place. There was a woman there yelling at us and told us we could not sit on the outdoor swings. Well then why do you have them. The place was really not all that clean either. The day we had to leave they came banging on our door 5 times to see if we were leaving. We were but not until 11:00 as is their policy. Never again.

If you like railroads, you’ll love this hotel. The trains come rumbling along at all hours and will even serenade you with an occasional whistle at 2 am. So if you don’t think trains are for you, skip the nostalgia and find somewhere else to stay. Beside the hotel itself is bar bones with peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, a dangling smoke detector hanging from the wall and few of the amenities you might come to expect in a most modern motels. And if that’s not enough, there are no locks on the side doors so just about anyone can walk in at any time.
