HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS HOTEL & SUITES TULSA-CATOOSA EAST I-44

Typical holiday inn express in the US. Greeted by a friendly receptionist even though I did arrive after midnight! Room was good and clean, breakfast was OK and everything went to plan, so absolutely no complaints from me. More than happy to return and recommend!

The hotel and room were incredibly clean. The bed was comfortable - one of the reasons we always try to stay at this brand of hotel. Parking lot was clean and had plenty of spots. Hotel staff was friendly. Hot breakfast was good too, the scrambled eggs were better than other HIEs. Wish the room A/C unit was a little quieter. Convenient to the highway, Dollar General and a gas station.

It was so bad, and the night desk clerk Koko was so horrible, and totally unprofessional and unhelpful that we were forced to pack up and leave for another IHG property. When we arrived it seemed at first unusual, but the hallways were hot and not air conditioned – looking back that was the warning sign that something was wrong. I thought it was turned off to compensate for the 101-degree temperature outside to save energy. The room air conditioner was on, and we lowered the temp to cool the room and left. When we came back the temperature was not lowered so we lowered to the coldest and waited an hour, but the room’s temperature did not change. I am a senior with COPD and breathing difficulties and cannot sleep in a hot room. I called the front desk to change rooms. Koko, the manager would not let me change rooms until I totally checked out. I suspected this lack of air conditioning was in all the rooms, so I wanted to see if the room was cool. She told me that nobody else complained about their air conditioner not working. I asked her to come up to see and she snapped back, I am not a mechanic. She also said she has 76 rooms and does not know every room in the hotel and could not guarantee a cool room. Koko claimed she was all alone and could not leave her position but that was a lie as when I went downstairs to get the hotel cart for my luggage, there she was in the back breakfast area with two others laughing and joking. What a lazy employee who if she is in charge, is doing a terrible job. I spent three hours on the phone with IHG and left to arrive after 11pm at another hotel. After IHG heard what happened, they refunded our money. We were so upset and tired from our ordeal, that we only wanted to get the hell out of Oklahoma.
