Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Portland Airport

Bed was comfortable, room was quiet, the airport shuttle was handy and efficient. Breakfast was decent and the gym was quite small, but a fine place to exercise for a short bit. No problems or issues at all during our one night stay.

This used to be a great place to stay pre-travel with their park/fly packages. It’s really gone down significantly in recent years. In addition to the dilapidated rooms (pics below), the breakfast situation was awful. Arriving to find the hot items empty, the waffle station out of supplies, and a lack of cups, silverware, muffins, and fruit was not great-add to dirty tables and counters, trash overflowing. This was at 8:00 am. :(.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part. We enjoyed the pool, and really loved hours of the pool! The rooms were comfortable, with nice beds. It was a bit disappointing when we went to get our breakfast in the mornings, counting on the breakfast being included, that they were running out of things on our first morning and on our second morning they closed early because of running out of things completely. So we had to go find breakfast somewhere else, when we were planning on breakfast at the hotel - and with this they didn’t offer a refund or a voucher for another option for breakfast. It’s not usually a big deal, but when you are traveling with little kids and you choose a place where look for a breakfast being included - it’s hard on the little guys to have to wait to eat and figure out something else out. It seems like some poor planning.
