Rodeway Inn Salem

It was absolutely disgusting. I don’t care if it was five dollars I would not rent it again. The staff was rude and had me in tears. I accidentally chose the wrong Room type with my dog and they took up my whole day fixing it and charged me way more than the app would haveI had the heebie-jeebies the whole time I was there afraid to touch anything. They advertised and nonexistent breakfastand if would’ve had my car with me, I would’ve slept in it

Booked room in advance and received confirmation # and reservation after giving cc info over website. Confirmation shows summary of charges. Surprised when we had to pay at hotel since we had given info on website. Told we were getting a smoking room when we chose a nonsmoking. Required deposit and expected a $50 Charge. Ran card before told it would be $300 since charges weren’t made even though email implied we had. Requested to use a different card once we were told it was going be the $300 as the acct with the card would not have enough money but we were told it went thru over drafting my account. Room was less than expected. Stained sheets and a spider in one bed. Wall light didn’t work and smelled Smokey even though we were told it was nonsmoking. Front desk person did not appear to really want to be working and was a bit standoffish when requesting a new room. Never apologized for the inconvenience and even questioned is and said, “the room is not ok?” Implying we were inconveniencing him. Would have checked out and gone elsewhere but my account was overdrawn and had no way of getting money for another hotel. Refunds are not immediate. Will never stay here again and I recommend you run the other direction and find someplace else to stay. A $75 hotel per night would have been better.

We stayed one night during a trip northward thru Oregon. Rodeway Inn's are not normally associated with interior room entrances and an indoor swimming pool, but this is not a normal Rodeway. It appears to be a rebranded hotel, but has the benefit of lower motel-type rates. Upon entering the lobby, the main desk has a large plexiglass barrier which makes it hard to hear the desk person and was a little unsettling. Check-in was fine however and, after not seeing a luggage cart in the lobby, a small one was produced from behind the desk. Walking to our first-floor room, we were surprised to see a family enjoying the indoor pool which is not something you see in the vast majority of Rodeways. Our room was spacious and had the built-in type of shower enclosure you normally see at Sleep Inn's and other hotels. Everything worked well, although there is no breakfast, but this is an economical place to spend the night and exceeded my expectations.
