Holiday Inn Harrisburg I-81

Had stayed at this hotel in the past, and loved the country bar they have The American Grille. Still love it, and enjoyed it again but the hotel really is not up to par. Seriously needs updating everywhere. They were painting the stairwells and does not look like it helped. Rugs need replacing throughout. Rooms have very old worn furniture, elevators were inop in some areas and ones in use dirty. Water pressure in shower was terrible. For what should be full service hotel, no coffee available in lobby. Hotel was loud. Children outside our door at 6am with parents, loud and talking with others in the hall. A plus was the staff were all friendly and efficient.

This is the 2nd time we have had to stay at this hotel (sports function and it was hotel that was picked). We were there for 3 nights. This hotel has been under construction for at least a year - I am sure the work they did within this past year is somewhere but could not tell. Room: I had a two queen bed room, it was clean, beds were comfortable, fresh towels daily, some of the lights did not work, but overall the room was fine. You can for sure hear everything that goes on in the hallways and peoples door slamming shut. If you need quiet, stay away from the doors to the stairwells as they are VERY hard to open and end up slamming into wall. There was only one working elevator. No working elevator from lobby floor up. Outdoor pool was clean as was indoor pool. Buffet breakfast was fine - your typical buffet breakfast. Lobby was dark, but it was clean. And decorated with a fun beach theme. We did not go into the bar - but I know they had some live music all weekend I believe. If that is something you like as well. The manager was there ALL THE TIME and was walking around. It was nice to see him there - which in my experience is not something you typically see. Especially weekends. Overall this is a fine hotel to stay at for short period of time.

I roomed by myself, but was with a group that stayed overnight in several rooms. Bed was quite comfortable and the breakfast buffet was good.
