Best Western The Central Hotel & Conference Center

My daughter and I have been visiting this whole several nights a year over the past 10 years or so. It is our go to spot when we go to Hersheypark. It is a short drive to the park from the hotel that gives us time to plan our day and/or unwind after a day in the park. The rooms in the Central were remodeled a few years ago and look fantastic, very updated, clean and well laid out. My daughter and I choose a poolside room option where your back door opens on the wonderful indoor pool. The staff is wonderful, polite and helpful. They text you ahead of your stay and respond to messages if you have any concerns. If you are traveling to Harrisburg or making a trip to Hershey. I strongly recommend this hotel.

In recent years, Best Western has proven to be a fantastic value. This one was well above the standard for a property of this class. The entire facility is immaculate, and the staff went above and beyond. Before arriving in Harrisburg, I could sense this would be a great experience. One week before checking in, they sent me a text message to see if I had any special requests and to confirm my stay. I responded with a request for a top floor room, which they accommodated. Then, on the day of arrival, I received another text to confirm my stay. This hotel is situated in the middle of Harrisburg, close to a few restaurants, gas stations, and a grocery store. It is roughly 15 minutes from the airport, and Hershey Park is a short drive away. A free shuttle is provided, but they do not always have a driver available. If you wish to use the shuttle, the staff are willing to reserve a ride several days in advance and recommend calling ahead. Check-in was extremely efficient. The front desk was friendly and had me to my room in less than two minutes. All employees I encountered (both at the front desk and the onsite bar) were efficient and welcoming. Since I stayed here on my own, I reserved a standard king room. It was large and well-equipped. The hotel was recently renovated and felt brand new. The bed was also one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on in my hundreds of hotel stays. Cleanliness was the greatest strength of this hotel. My room was immaculate and had no dirt or stains anywhere. The lobby and public areas were also immaculate, even after many guests congregated in them on the night we stayed. If you stay here, note that they don’t offer free breakfast, but you can order at the onsite restaurant. They also have a large indoor pool, fitness center, and game room. Although the rates are slightly higher than other mid-range hotels, I strongly recommend staying here. On the night I stayed, it was cheaper than many other options nearby. It is impeccably clean, the employees go above and beyond, and you will have a comfortable stay.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and both time were wonderful. Great staff. Good food and service in the restaurant. They describe the food as "Pub" food. We think it is several notches about that. Clean, comfortable rooms with all you need. I traveled for a living and there are very few Hotels that are as nice as this for the money.
