Scottish Inn & Suites

This was my first stay at a Super 8, and it will definitely be my last. The room was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom was filthy. The shower and bathtub grout were covered in mold, and there was even what appeared to be mold/fungus on the ceiling. There were hairs and body hair everywhere. The curtains were heavily stained and looked like they even had what appeared to be blood stains on them. The curtain rail and the area around it were completely covered in dust. The entire room smelled strongly of dirty, damp humidity. I lifted the mattress to check underneath the bed, and I found an old towel, candy wrappers, and, unbelievably, what appeared to be a crack pipe. The microwave was absolutely filthy as well. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I didn’t even feel comfortable sleeping in the room. I asked for a refund and left to stay at a Marriott instead. This was easily one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I’ve ever seen. Completely unacceptable.

Iam often in Hershey for medical appointments. Over the past 6 years we've stayed at many hotels. I've stayed at this hotel 5 times now over past 2 years. We stay here or there is one other hotel now depending on availability. Staff are super friendly. The area is nice and quiet. Distance to things is reasonable, it's a nice country environment. Housekeeping could be a little more detailed but it's not bad. For the cost it's a very nice place to stay. We were here 3 days this visit.

To simplify my reviews, I am going to put my teacher skills to use: Cleanliness of the room: B Comfort of the beds: B+ Wait time to check in: A- Friendliness of the employees: A- Professionalism of the employees: B+ Water pressure in the bathroom: B OVERALL GRADE: C+ While the hotel received good marks for the main things, the air conditioning unit was NOT working. It was a hot couple of days with no air. The toilet was also loose and needed to be tightened or replaced. This hotel is in a resort area with Hersheypark and the town of Hershey nearby. These things should have been fixed prior to anyone staying in the room.
