Australian Walkabout Inn B & B

This was our second stay at Cardinal's Roost. We were greeted by Allen and checked in. Since it was past dinner time (went to the Sight and Sound show before), we asked Allen for a close by restaurant for dinner. He recommended Caruso's so we went. Excellent food and too much to eat. When we returned Tena was there and we chatted for a while before going to the Gum Tree suite. Large bedroom with a separate sitting area and a whirlpool tub. Very clean and comfortable and slept well. Breakfast could take up a whole write-up. Fresh, delicious coffee was available early and we agreed upon a 9am breakfast. Sat in the comfortable living area and admired the decor and pictures, and spotted a unique version of the old Connect Four game. Tena and Allen explained it to us and we were intrigued to find out Allen had 3D printed it. Amazing. On to breakfast. The first course was a yogurt-based treat with fresh fruit and chocolate granola toppings. Not a yogurt fan, but I ate every drop of it. The main course was lemon ricotta pancakes with a blueberry compote, crispy bacon, scrambled eggs with something else blended in that were fluffy and filling. Tena explained each serving and what was in it but by that time I was so busy eating I wasn't paying attention. The final serving was cinnamon crumb cake which we had to take to go since we were full. We had it later in the afternoon and wish we would have asked for extra. It was goood. So, we highly recommend the Cardinal's Roost. It was our 56th wedding anniversary, so we've been around and can honestly say this place ROCKS! John and Maureen

I had a very enjoyable three-night stay. The room was spacious and very clean. Location was convenient for my purpose - which was house hunting in Lancaster and vicinity. The breakfasts were all very interesting and tasty. I would certainly come back again.

Tena and Allen are amazing. Breakfast was delicious and they are both friendly, accommodating and are great to talk to! Very nice place to stay!
