Alpenhof Bed and Breakfast

My wife and I chose the Alpenhof B&B as our base while visiting family nearby. The property, both inside and out, is just beautiful. Only topped by the hospitality offered by both Ang and Roland. The property is loaded with family history. We stayed in Heidi’s Room, which was very comfortable. The morning custom-made breakfast was unbeatable and filling enough to question the need for lunch that day. We just missed pool season, as fall (low temps and falling leaves) came quick this year. We took advantage of the locale to visit nearby Valley Forge Nat’l Park (free) and the incredible Longwood Gardens (not free, but well worth the expense). Looking forward to our return stay at Alpenhof B&B and recommend it anyone visiting the area.

If you'd like a super-charming place with easy access to transportation to Philly, you'd be remiss not to stay here. Terrific owners, fabulous breakfasts, wonderful local recommendations!

I stayed here for a weekend as my friend's wedding was relatively close to here. It was an extremely unique property and I'm glad that I got to experience it, though I feel like I barely got to scratch the surface with how unique, intricate and beautifully designed and maintained the whole place is, including the pool and grounds. The hosts were great and took good care of us. The breakfasts were filling and the start to a good day with some solid, basic options to choose from. The property is an old barn and has been beautifully converted into a very gothic and rich styled bed and breakfast. This is the place for those who appreciate bright colors, stained glass, unique lighting, etc. We stayed in the "master bedroom" and it was just as richly appointed. However, it does have a vented window to the lobby area, so the privacy of the room is just a touch compromised. However, this is not a big deal and kind of expected at a property like this, it's a B&B not the Hampton Inn, it's going to be a touch more close knit. The property has a pool as well as a few beautiful gardens. The front of the property connects to a local neighborhood with a basic trail to get down there. The B & B is situated in a small town close to nature and hiking. I did not have time to experience everything nearby with the wedding to attend to but I am generally familiar with this area being from nearby. If I was a tourist looking to "experience the greater Philadelphia area" I would hands down consider this place as a home base. It's close to a lot to see as well as authentically situated in what neighborhoods around suburban Philadelphia area are like. My only suggestion for improvement - wish the tea area had glass cups, not the plastic/paper to go ones.
