Need to catch a flight? Do not expect to get your car from the valet—which charges $65! They don’t pick up the phone. I called the front desk. He said, “There’s only one guy and there are three or four cars in front of you.” What a nightmare!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at The Notary Hotel! The location is perfect for exploring the city, and the view from our room was truly unbeatable.What really made our trip memorable, though, was the incredible staff. Tokyo at the front desk greeted us with so much enthusiasm and kindly offered us a room upgrade; she was absolutely lovely and made us feel welcome right away. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, where Claude took excellent care of us and was incredibly nice. The restaurant had surprisingly reasonable prices. Between the prime location, stunning views, and top-tier hospitality from Tokyo and Claude, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be back!

The hotel overall was very nice. Really love the history. Room was well appointed. But the pillows were awful. Round cylinder type pillows that were very high and they were terrible for one's neck. Bed was very hard. Towels very rough. It would be nice if there was a towel rack at the sink for one's face or hand towel. And please fix the curtain so that the gap at the end does not expose sunlight, maybe a snap on the wall to snap the end to to fix the issue. This property is close to the Convention Center and Reading Market, which unfortunately closes at 6PM so if you want to check it out make sure you go before 6pm.
