CROWNE PLAZA SOUTH

Very pleased with the room and staff. Make sure to get a voucher for breakfast as it is very expensive for the buffet. The breakfast items are typical of what is provided free at most other places.

I’m a frequent traveler and don’t need fancy, just clean. This place is the worst I’ve stayed in years. A dump. Water stains on ceiling, chipping paint, marks on wall and furniture, fireplace with grille falling apart, dirty carpet, dirty bathroom, random hairs, old mattress. We needed a few sheets for the pullout couch, so I went into the linens room and it looked like it had been ransacked. The fireplace pilot was also giving out a lot of heat on a hot day and couldn’t be fixed. I would give this hotel an F, except the staff were very sweet. Because of them it gets a D-.

Room was great. Heat wasn’t working but they worked on it to make it right. Someone pulled a fire alarm the first night there and everyone made their way downstairs. It was clear the desk staff hadn’t been trained on what to do. Not good! On our 3 nights stay the restaurant was closed two of them. Apparently they have one chief and one bartender. I can’t believe this is a Crown Plaza. I was at an event with 60 people who were mostly over 65 years old attending and most stayed in the hotel. Many had flown in and didn’t have a car. They struggled to get food. Do better!
