The Shippen Place Hotel

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The place is filthy, although you can't see some of it until the light huts tight. There were pee narks on the floor in front of the toilet. Soap scum on the tub. Moldy looking stuff beneath the ovrflow vent. Shampoo container was already partially used.visible filth in the hallway carpet. The ice machine on my floor produced no ice. I tried to call the front desk from the room phone and got a busy signal numerous times. Itried again and got a voice message to leave a message. I again called from my own phone a d after I began expressing my concerns, she hung up on me. Never again. 😡😡😡😡

This is now the Clarion Inn & Suites. The room was nice but the breakfast was inadequate. We stayed for 4 nights. Thursday morning was ok however Friday and Saturday was a disappointment. At 7:30 am on Friday there was no breakfast in fact a customer went to the desk to ask who was handling breakfast. On Saturday at the same time no eggs, meat, juice or coffee lumpy pancake mix at 7:30 am. We checked out Sunday so I cannot comment further.

The hotel was clean and reasonably up to date. It was quiet and the staff very friendly. We stayed in a handicap accessible room and the walk-in shower was a little run down. But it was mostly cosmetics. It was inexpensive, and I feel we got more than we paid for. The room was comfortable, bed was good, and I plan to make that my go-to hotel when I’m in that area.
