I'm a PSU Alum from the 1990's, so I've stayed at the Nittany Lion Inn many times over the years. While the remodel looks nice, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff at the front desk was rude, and the staff in the bar weren't any better. Service used to be the shining star of this place, but that was not our experience in July. As for the room, it looked nice but it was HOT and swampy. I would never stay here in the summer again. The location is great and parking is easy, but be prepared for a warm room.

Beautiful, fun historic hotel! Everything was great except the price. I booked with Expedia, but found the price cheaper on Priceline and cancelled my first reservation within the acceptable time frame. After I checked out, I found charges pending that were $25 extra. Next day it went down $12, but still more than quoted. Plus they charged $12 to park and then I had to pay $14 at the parking garage kiosk to validate the ticket. I’ve emailed, called and texted and I guess will just have to live with it. It’s unfortunate because I really liked the hotel.

First the good, the hotel has been remodeled and looks very nice. Great lobby for groups to meet up, nice outdoor spaces too. The coffee shop is also very nice, with a friendly staff and good food and coffees. The valets were also very nice. The bad, the room has earth friendly air conditioners that are motion sensor activated. You know when you’re not moving? When you’re asleep. Our room was hot and humid and very uncomfortable. At first we thought that it was broken, and checked with the front desk. They assured us that the air was working. Speaking of the front desk, I was greeted at check-in with, name? I don’t expect someone to call me by name or anything, but a hello is courteous. It was odd. Overall, not worth the money. Might be a better winter spot and be prepared to get down to business when checking in. Nice place to have drinks or a coffee-I did not like sleeping here.
